This is the second video in my 20 Gallon Nano reef aquarium Build. In this video I talk about the sand I will use and i get the sand in the aquarium, i get the protien skimmer up and running, and get active carbon in the power filter.

I also add a Versa Top, I lost a good bit of water to evaporation over the first week, so hopfully this top will help.

Please let me know what you think, if you have any suggestions or comments I'd love to here them, this is my first venture into the marine aquarium hobby so I've got some learning to do but I've been doing my research and acquiring as much knowledge as I can in hopes of having a good first experience in the reef world.

So Again, let me know what you think, Comment, Rate, subscribe and I'll do my best to keep up, Thanks for watching.

  • How can you say nano tank when its 20 gallon..its almost 80 litres.

    But its nice tank.

Can i setup my nano in salt water, but its really nano..about 35 litres

  • @bembaraM3 I believe they consider anything from 5 gallons to 30 gallons "Nano" in the reef world. Anything under 5 gallons I think they referrer to as a "Pico" tank. Thanks for Checking out my video.

  • I agree with WWpictures, that's not bad for five days worth of evaporation.. You'll do water changes in that time frame anyway.. Nice setup, I love the small reef tanks!!!

  • @FishHobby1984 Thanks, Yea I find myself cleaning the versa top a couple times a week, and i do a water change and top it off anyway. I'll just have to get use to this aspect of a small tank. Thanks for watching.

  • Thats usual for that much evaporation in 5 days

  • @WWpictures100 I suppose I'm more use to my 75 Gallon Freshwater tank, Not use to loosing Inches of water in less then week.

  • Get a new air valve for skimmer. Helps a bunch

  • i think that you've lost so much water is because of the marine land filter, i had one and i lost a ton of water with it.

  • Yeah the evaporation is kind of a pain. I top off about a cup every morning. Gotta keep that salinity stable, especially in a smaller tank.

  • Looks alright though ill have to see if its cycled through ur videos :)

  • Looks more like a fluval osaka had one and it 41 gallons

  • @AKAEUPHORiA Naa pretty queit actually, But i am having a little trouble keeping it running correctly, I find myself adjusting the air flow all the time, its been a couple weeks now so I donno if its just taking a while to break it or what, but as for the noise, its not to bad.
