  • Independence doesn't mean putting a barrier. I can consider west Iberians brothers all the same after independence, just like I consider brothers the French that live only 100 km north.

And a language which loses power certainly dies, you can see how languages more spoken than Icelandic are disappearing, but Icelandic not because Iceland is an independent country. Catalan in Alghero is almost dead, unfortunately. The young speak Italian.

  • Stop speaking in the name of the catalans!! The only ones who vote in those unconstitutional masquerades are the non-european inmigrants and the radical leftist scum!! This is the scum who is destroying our country! the real working class catalans don't give a fuck about this bullshit! Independence only benefits the cleptocrat bugeoisie and the corrupt political caste!!

  • @GaeilgeSpraoi Spaniards are Celt-Iberians, unlike the Egypto-Syrio-Palestinian-Anatolian-Jewish-Moorish Italian peepz of the ridiculous fake-redneck Italo-New Yorker troll "DixieRulez".

  • @GaeilgeSpraoi

    Spaniards are Moors!

  • @branz93 "You can bring a horse to the watering hole but you can't make it drink" ^^ Besides I've been in Spain since September cos I study Spanish. Actually in Bilbao in the Basque Country, I thought Welsh was obscure with all the w, y and circumflexed ŵ and ŷ and double consonants at the start of words and apostrophes! and then... I encountered Basque! It's full of z, k and x and not related to any other language. I suppose other's think Irish is crazy too! hehe

  • @GaeilgeSpraoi haha why haven't you encouraged people since now?! The Irish language has such a huge potential! It should not be wasted! What part of Ireland are you from? an Irish speaking part or?

  • @branz93 Yeah that's tue and they say there are more speakers of it now than 100 years ago apparently. Well at least I can speak it! I should try to encourage others! :) Definitely education is key. I think they should change all the schools to Irish speaking! Most in Catalonia are in Catalan and in the Basque Country you have an option to study via Basque or Spanish and most choose Basque! haha Aye, Éireann go brách and Cymru am byth! ^^

  • @GaeilgeSpraoi indeed! the Irish language still exists though! Hopefully more and more people will learn it and hope you can change the education system so more people can appreciate it :) ...as we say in welsh "Yma o Hyd!"... we're still here and still fighting :) Erinn go Bragh!

  • @branz93 Yeah. I think what really affected Irish was the Great Famine where many Irish speakers predominantly from the West died or emigrated. Well everything has been cut in Ireland due to the recession... :( Funny thing is that Irish has been official since the formation of the state in 1916 and in almost 100 years they still haven't managed to revive the language. It's disgraceful. The English language has such a force. It's distressing. Poor Celtic tongues. :(
