A young Jewish boy and his family are the victims of a Krystalnacht at the movies start and flee to Poland. When the Germans invade Poland the boy escapes and ends up taken in by the Soviets and placed in a boarding school to learn Communism. The boy is conscripted into a front line unit and is eventually captured by the Germans. He speaks German and through some luck or misfortune he becomes a war hero. He is sent to a Hitler Youth boarding school where he encounters, yet more problems. This tale follows through the war's end in Berlin.

@PaulaLoveAdamLambert Wow danke Herr Professor! Ich dachte ernsthaft der Film wurde '40 gedreht :-/ (Ironie) Und es gibt die Waffen noch ;-) In Afrika benutzen manche Gruppen noch STG44 aus der Zeit bzw KAr98K etc

its the picture of history, at the beginin of world war 2 stalin and hitler worked together but later u see the blown head of stalin... it means the part when hitler started to attack russland too
