I agree that this version is better than Tim McGraw's version. The sound is more pared down is pure, and beautiful. I like Tim but he mucked this song up.

@66pinkangel I'm sure the writers of this song are very appreciative that Tim McGraw cut this song. I'm sure it received much more airplay and record sales as a result. I'm sure "Bruce and Kelly" both smile everytime they get a royalty check...

My best friend Kathy's favorite song, never understood till lately and no-one does till they feel it . We all survive it just as she did and we will. Great song.
This has my vote for one of the best country songs ever!

I figured out why I like this version so much more than Tim McGraw's. In this one, I really feel the pain and depression. The pain of something torn apart and the depression of not being able to do anything about it. In Tim's version, it has more of an "unconditional love" like feel, without as much pain and anguish. It just feels unreal compared to the words. This version, the words match the feel of the music and voice. It's much more complete.
