  • Allegro Molto is "Sehr Munter" in german,a description of character rather than speed. At this tempo and in an empty Musikverein Hall it sounds like a bathtub...

  • No he didn't.

The tempo is marked as "Allegro Assai" which has no direct translation but it means "cheerfully", or "rather cheerful", or "animated".

You try to sing the phrases of this movement at this speed and if your brain doesn't tell you something is wrong you haven't listened to a lot of Mozart.

  • allegro assai..which is the fourth movement

  • I mean Symphony.

  • Despite knowing that it was the Vienna Philharmonic and that they were very good, what movement was this?

  • who's the conductor please? and in which year?
