  • Checking the unfretted string against its harmonic on the 12th fret is useless in this case, because it has nothing to do with intonation. If the unfretted string is in tune, the harmonic on the 12th will also be in tune (unless the string or mechanics are faulty). At 0:45, he stumbles himself upon this: "We have good ... we have a...". Yeah, we have the universal laws of physics working, that's good. Nothing fancy there.
