@Cade57 socialism can not last for hundreds of years. It has been around since WWII? In terms of free healthcare, that is what is driving the debts and other programs. Maybe a few nordic nations are doing well but look at their population size and demographic. The facts are Ireland, Spain, France, Greece, and you nation UK, are in big trouble and my nation has not learned from the errors of your nation. Basically, almost all of the socialist governements in europe are in trouble. The only reason your nation is not in as bad as shape is you did not go with the Euro and minimized the damage to the UK economy. When the united states govt spends two trillion dollars to help the economy and health care results in premiums going up, over a hundred major employers receiving waivers from it, and the shovel ready stimulus that never happed never stimulate the economy but instead was the noditch bill? In govt, One trillion and almost 15% unemployment rate is a success. In the real world, you get fired as ceo!

Yes, bush was president in 2007 but since pelosi became speaker of the house in 01/2007, five trillion dollars added to the debt. bush was a big spender. Obama is a bigger spender. he alone has added almost three trillion to the debt since he enterd office. You have a boner for socialism so admit it. On paper, it sounds good.
