Rehman joins St Mary School students in Protest March against the Phone Mast and speaks with Meridian ITN South East

Wednesday 25 November 2009. Rehman today joined the school children from St Mary School in their protest March against the Phone Mast near their School

Rehman commented I fully support the schools childrens campaign, because childrens and local residents safety shall always be my first concern, and I urge vodafone to remove the Mast.

Rehman later gave an interview to Meridian ITN on this issue, and made the point that Government planning laws should be changed so that local councils should have the final say and not a government inspector sitting in Bristol. Local people should be able to determine their own destiny. Medway Council had turned down this application by vodafone but it had been over ruled by the Independent Government Inspector.
