Laura's Dad - Brian Gari

This is a song I wrote for my friend, Lou Nigro, the father of Laura Nyro. He tuned my piano for years until he retired and moved upstate. He is now 95 years old. I wrote the song when Lou was attending an Off-Broadway revue of Laura's songs. He went night after night and was loved by everyone there. I am grateful to Jeff Olmsted for the great work on the track and Elynn Diamond for her vocals. From my CD "He's An Old Cat" available here

Wow! This is very, very pretty. Kudos! I agree with the poster who wrote that the late great Ms Nyro looked a lot like her dad. How incredibly sad that she outlived her. She was one of the most gifted singer/songwriters that the world has ever seen. THANKS so much for posting this!

Thank you so much for this beautiful tribute video. I had the great pleasure of knowing Laura in her last years. I helped negotiated the compilation double cd.

During that time i spoke to her by phone almost daily. Not just a great artist but

a great human being. Such dignity and poise. I truly miss her.
