It's critical to demonstrate enthusiasm. People will see you as committed, engaged, and interesting. Your voice tells people that you are excited. You can't fake enthusiasm - it has to be authentic and from your heart.
There are a number of ways to incorporate Vocal Projection and Intonation into your presentation style:
1.Tell stories
2.Use Names
3.Relive an Experience
All of these effective communication techniques will help you demonstrate enthusiasm, which is critical to your overall success.
Next time you present, think of a story you can tell to personalize your message. On occasion, use people's names and call out to them while you are presenting. Ask questions that elicit emotion and intrigue. Remember, you set the tone. If you're excited, your audience will get excited with you. To get approval for your ideas and get people motivated, you have to tell and show them that you're excited.

Thanks for the great advice. These ideas work anywhere and anytime. For example, if you're going out, try them too. Speak loud and confident. Easier said than done but it's a good skill to have. Trust me

I like the advice. It is very specific and directed. Some students might be able to use more general principles which can be applied in more situations. Ms. Jeavons' use of vocal variety seems a little more forced or arbitrary, however, with changes in pitch and volume unrelated to emphasis.

The left cheek may be larger. Nobody is perfect and its the content that counts. What Sheri is doing is very effective. It works.
