Acetylene by itself past 15PSI becomes stupid unstable. Why do you think your Acetylene cylinder has asbestos and Acetone in it? Without the Acetone to stabilize it, your Acetylene cylinder at 400 PSI would be a massive bomb, Oxygen or no.

I didn't know acetylene was THAT explosive. I've go all kinds of that shit around here.

@karlrob76 Well acetylene by itself it's fine, you have to get the right oxygen mix for it to really be explosive, which is why they come in different tanks
