This is a tutorial that shows you how to use the LoopPlayer contraption in Audiomulch to mix music.

This is along the lines of how popular artist Girl Talk performs live. I have no idea the exact process and plugins that he uses but this is close.

I will not distribute samples / instrumentals / acapellas out. Sorry.

  • What was the name of the program you were using to take samples with? i use windows would it cross over?

  • @moonpup09 I was using Audacity for awhile which also supports Windows.

  • what are your audacity settings? ie how did you get your sample to loop?

    Thanks

  • @simontaft It's been awhile but this is what the manual says...

Loop - if you hold down the Shift key, the Play button changes to a Loop button, which lets you keep playing the selection over and over again.

  • @lllatomlll Thanks very much!

I'm also having a little trouble with the audiomulch settings for the loop recorder. Mine may be a different version, but do you remember if you altered anything there?

    Thanks!

  • @simontaft I'm not familiar with the loop recorder. The loop player contraption I think has changed a little bit but the same concept should apply. I haven't updated my version of Audiomulch.

  • @ClammyStephen That is one of the things people might love or hate about AM. It really makes you think about timing and creating other audio cues to unmute samples at the beginning of your sample. There is no visual indicator and almost no way to count. You have to rely on surrounding samples to let you know where your counts are. If you can master this in AM then you're in good shape. This was one of the smaller reasons I switched over to Ableton.

  • So,when you bring in other samples do you count before you bring them in?When I go to play my samples it's like they're already playing while they're muted so they come in like halfway through a verse.

  • @lllatomlll well you kinda can with melodyne...that tech just hasn't been applied to a sampling tool yet

  • First tutorial i've seen on youtube that the guy doesn't have a crazy accent....hahah
