missing hen found with ten baby chickens.AVI

These ten cute baby chickens were a bit of a surprise. The brown mother hen had been missing for a few weeks and we suspected that maybe she had become another statistic to a fox. However, when I went into one of my sheds I hadn't been in for a while, here was the hen, along with her brood of ten chickens. I think Mr. Rooster is looking for a new home because he can't afford the child support payments!

What Type of Chicken is the Mother Hen? She is gorgeous! I am hatching in the spring and I would love to have some baby chicks like those! Are they silkie or aracuna or something else?

@Ilovechickens1234561 - The mother hen is a Bantam but she could have a little bit of Silkie in her as well. The father of these chickens is a big white 'Silkie'

so lovely to see this cute baby chickens...I used to have a lot chickens couple years, in this age, they will eat what her mom gives them, otherwise when they grow older they don't want to eat something that the mother never give them to eat...

WHy wouldnt you just be thrilled with babies? Adorable. You can always sell some. I wish I could have them. I would really LOVE them like babies. I like to smell them up in my face. I LOVE chicks and chickens.

Yeah that's a chicken she is definitely part Silkie. You have to watch those cause they will sit on eggs when ever they have a chance. Their mission in life is to be mommas. How sweet is that!?
