Probably because of his laryngitis from singing so much--Ace didn't get to sing quite as often, you know....

He was standing to the left of Carl in this vid--and was singing the falsetto highs in this song--Roy was there, definitely! Ace is singing the "flip your mind" part and playing bass--Trevor is playing guitar on the other end and adding harmonies, that was it.

When Jeff Lynne joined the Move from The Idle Race they were signed to EMI's Harvest label for 1 album(Message From The Country) and 3 singles,Tonight,Chinatown and California Man on the basis that they could also work on Roy and Jeff's Electric Light Orchestra project.Roy wood left ELO to form Wizzard after 2 albums as his vision for ELO differed from Lynne's.

Not to begin with - he switched to bass after Ace left in '68.

thanks for posting this and other rare footage of a band that i loved The Move were one of those bands like the who and the Hollies defined the Mod trend in music besides The Beatles and Stones Troggs Small Faces all great its a pity that we have lost many of these bands to history so its great that you have shared this.
