The Boss DD-20 Giga Delay is a much better pedal, in my opinion, than the all-popular Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler. Here's a how-to guide to start working with it, with a few in-depth explanations of some of the less obvious controls. Part One of a two-part series.

  • where can i get a good small external tap tempo pedal?

  • @GuitarMonkey5180

I got mine directly from VoodooMan Switches on eBay. VoodooMan is a small operation and they make switches for just about anything (amps, etc.). Try them first. Remember, you're looking for a Boss FS-5U (unlatching) custom replacement.

  • Is this Paul Giamatti's Brother? :-)

Great video man...thanks for helping me want another delay!! :-P

  • @disissanchy

Paul Giamatti is my celebrity look-alike. I get that all the time. Great actor, BTW.

I'm in no way Italian, though.

  • is it ok to have both pedals? dd-20 and re-20 echo.. cause many people keep saying that the dd-20 has the can produce the same effects as re-20 pedal.. awesome video!

  • @argoscarneirow

I certainly think it's okay to have both the DD-20 and RE-20! They both get an equal amount of use, but for different delay/echo effects. I made a video specifically showing the two side by side, look it up! "Boss DD-20 GigaDelay Vs. Boss RE-20 Space Echo".

This video is over a year old by now... From back before I learned how to edit my dumb phrases out. Embarrassing. Oh well.

  • Also, don't forget to properly power this pedal. If you don't have a DC brick at least use a seperate one-spot or you will experience noise issues. Don't daisy chain it with other high drawing pedals. So many people dogged on this pedal as being noisy, it's one of the most quiet ones out there if properly powered.

  • So when you change the outputs, like A being dry and B being wet as an example, is that for the base setting for the pedal in general, or is it only whatever preset you're on?

  • learn something everyday

  • can you change delay time mid sound?

You know to make the repeats go all crazy?

  • I like lights too :-)

  • Thanks for showing me the way to more lights!!!

  • Hey nice demo...do you know if I can switch memories with Ground control Pro? thks
