Hannah was born on September 19, 2010 at 3:08am after 65 hours of labor and an emergency c-section. She weighed 9lbs 5.6oz, was 22 inches long and absolutely PERFECT!

She had to go to the NICU to receive antibiotics as a precaution in case she contracted the infection I developed in my amniotic fluid. Once her blood tests came back showing that she was healthy, Hannah was able to join me in my room.

  • Love your story Carla... you are seriously the most amazing women I have ever "met". You are like a friggen Viking... Even though things didn't go the way you all planned (hence why it's called a birth plan right??), at least you have an amazingly beautiful little girl in your arms now !!! She is perfect !

  • @ValleyOfTheSunGirl The risk of being THAT post date was greater than the risk of induction by pitocin. After 65 hours of labor, anyone would be in bad shape. I don't blame the pitocin.

  • I just had my son on the 9th and your labor and delivery story sounds almost EXACTLY how mine went. I completely empathize with you! I also was planning a natural birth, but sometimes that just isn't what is supposed to happen to get our little ones out and safe in our arms. Love you and your channel!

  • Your baby is exactly 1 year older than mine!!! :)

  • Oh she is sooooo cute. That was a lot to go through. You're my hero! :)

  • your baby has the best name ;)

wow you truly are inspiring and amazing 65 hours?!

    congratulations!

    xxxxx

  • wow! that story really was epic....so glad to see you both doing so well in this video though. so many of those hours with no pain relief - whoa! and from what i'm told, pitocin contractions are so much more intense than the naturally occurring kind. you are a superhero. and it's so great that you have this video to share with your daughter when she gets old enough to ask questions about her birth story. good for you both! take care.

  • wow. your story is soo touching. i cannot even begin to imagine how strong you must be to have to go through all that. i hope im half the woman you were while you were going through those 65 hours, when its my turn.

enjoy motherhood - hannah is beautiful
