I was not able to add to that last post that this device works on other computers!! So it works, but suddenly got uncompatible with my laptop and I can not figure out how, once again I have not hooked anything else up to the computer since the device was working, so if anyone could tell me what I could do to get this back to compatible with my laptop, by the way I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the software & the hardware multiple times, and of course have repeatedly rebooted the laptop.

I have used this device to convert 12 vhs's with no problem and then it suddenly quite working with my laptop, it keeps saying "device not available...etc.", I have not connected up anything new with the laptop since it was working, and you can not get help from the tech. support #, you are on hold for about a half hour (Long Distance at that) and then they do not help you when you finally get them, and you call back again for help and they want to make it ABOUT THEIR FEELINGS!! So Help!?

so let me see if I understand this, if I transfer my VHS tapes to PC with this ION product, I will be able to burn a DVD that will look better than the VHS tapes or will it look identical? Im trying to figure if I need an alternate device to convert ALL my tapes but this sounds so simple I think I want it.. I am not computer saavy.
