Something I should add... The worst thing ever done to/in Florence was when they demolished the old court house building and built that ugly 12 story monstrosity that is there now. It was in the early 70s when nobody cared about anything but "new" and modern looking shit. And I do mean shit.

@WeThrowPie There are just as many if not more whites doing the shit as blacks. So don't just point out blacks like they are the one's just making Florence a bad place. I've seen the whites sell the drugs and come buy the drugs from the black's, so i don't what Florence you live in.

@urbansmoke I'm only 25 and I'm originally from a small "oil" town in Pennsylvania it's actually called Oil City.That place was actually bombing until the oil ran dry and so did the business and people..Thats probably why when you grow up in OC,you move away!haha..So I unerstand how u feel about Florence changing.I've been here only for 7 years and already ALOT has changed already,I've been noticing them cutting down ALOT of trees on the east side of Florence,kinda gives me a sickening feeling.

I'm not originally from Florence,but I live here now and I always wondered what it used to look like and considering I wasn't even born in the time period this video gives me a great deal of perspective..I enjoy this alot.It seems so innocent and clean back then,when people actually talked to you even if they didn't know you!!haha.I'm a fan of this time period..

The building identified as Bruce Hospital at the 0:15 mark in the video was Saunders Memorial Hospital and stood across the street from McClenaghan High School (formerly Florence High School). Bruce Hospital was a one story building located beside the high school.

this town has gone down ever since i was a kid im only 23 years old but it depresses me now when I was a kid it still seemed better than it is now, skyview burned to the ground, downtown is ghetto as hell "of course thats all ive ever known it as" but its true CRIME FILTH AND TRASH.
