Longer clip of Dead Space 2 running on my XPS M1730. This time I run the game in Win XP SP3 and with framerates ranging from 100-230+ fps in-game.

  • I want to run this game in 1920x1200, and am wondering how you are doing it. In my game the highest available res is 1600x1200. I found the settings file and changed the entries to 1920x1200, saved it, and then ran DS2. I can still only get 1600x1200. The file settings reverted back to this as well. I changed it again and set the file as 'read only'--it did not change after that but I still only get highest in game of 1600x1200--running W7HP 64. How can I get 1920x1200?

  • @DiGiTaLdAzEDM Do you have an XPS M1730? Or is it that simple that you don´t have an 1920x1200 screen? Also see what aspect ratio the game is set at, however 1600x1200 is aspect 16:10 same as 1920x1200.

Else it could be the GPU driver, give another driver a try and see if that helps.

  • @Magnus72 The native res of my monitor is 1920x1200. However I am not getting that res in some other games as well. In Call of Duty 4 I can only get up to 1600x1200. In Medal of Honor 1920x1200 is in the menu but only at 59HZ and will not run. This problem has persisted through 2 or 3 driver versions--I suspect that my monitor may have an issue. You must actually get 1920x1200 in the DS2 Graphics settings menu--i.e. do not have to set that as a custom res?

  • @DiGiTaLdAzEDM Yes I set the resolution to 1920x1200 in the video options. No custom res here in any ini file or such.

  • @snirtox Ah well with fraps the framerate goes down considerably. So better to show how well the game runs by recording with a camera instead :)

  • @Magnus72 I meant that you shoul record with fraps ;)

  • @snirtox I used fraps to show the framerate, though it´s recorded with a digital camera.

  • fraps? Otherwise nice video :D

  • @notebookplayer Thanks.

  • nice video
