I agree with your conclusions, but I suspect the confidence level you believe to be justified by the material presented in your videos is a bit too high for me.

I feel the formal translation approach is an unreliable method. Intended meaning is not always conveyed by literal meaning. In French, to convey, "You are correct," one would say, "Tu as raison," which literally means, "You have reason."
