This is a good example of Dada's influence on the cinema of the time.

This was made long before I was born and considering that it's done on black and white film and would have been manualy edited in the cutting room, it is technically brilliant. Look how many different camera angles and techniques are involved. Also, if you look at some of the close ups of the dancers, this is very risquee for it's time. There is no dialoge but it leaves you in no doubt of the meaning. And absolutely, it tugs at the heart strings and I have to admit to at least a lump in my throat

That forlorn kitten at 6:00 puts me in tears every time. It was Busby Berkeley's stuff that got me hot on dance so many years ago.

I love that mass tap dancing sequence, they could make river dance in to a feature film along the same lines.

The sight of that adorable kitten at the end just breaks my heart.
4:18 - Awe-some!
In a weird way, the first time I saw this I thought immediately of the death of Princess Diana. With that there was some of the same feeling, that is, someone so young and vibrant couldn't just die like that.
Thanks for posting; I love this.
