Hi GialloZafferano viewers and welcome to our kitchen. I'm Deborah and today we'll be preparing a fantastic recipe: Sangria. Let's see what we'll need:
• 2 Lemons
• 2 oranges
• 1 apple
• 2 peaches
• A small glass of brandy
• 1 vanilla pod • 3 small pieces of cinnamon
• 6 cloves
• 2/3 of a cup of sugar
• 1 quart of red wine
• 2 cups lemon-lime fizzy soda
Let's make our sangria.
First of all, pour the sugar into a bowl big enough for all the ingredients. Now add the wine, the glass of brandy (which will make it irresistible), the vanilla pod which should be cut beforehand, the cinnamon and cloves. Now, with a ladle, mix the sangria until the sugar is completely dissolved and let it rest for a few minutes so the flavours disperse.
Here's what to do with the fruit. The peaches and apple into bite-size cubes without removing the skins. Cut half of an orange and half a lemon into slices, and juice one orange and one lemon. Now add the fruit to the wine, add the orange and lemon juice, and finally add the citrus slices to both flavour and decorate the sangria. Finish with a quick stir, cover the wine with plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge for at least 3 hours, or even better, overnight.
I've removed the sangria from the fridge and now we're ready for the final touch. Add the lemon-lime soda and if you'd like, some ice cubes to chill. Mix it together and the sangria is ready! From GialloZafferano, buona sangria and see you next time!

  • Is the lemon-lime soda sugary, like Sprite or 7 Up? Or is it mineral water with lemon-lime flavour?

  • I had Sangria at a Spanish restaurant in San Diego once. It was so good I asked the waiter for the recipe. He said, "here's my Sangria recipe, its even better". This recipe posted here is almost the exact recipe he gave me and it is insane good. The only major difference is that he used Sweet Vermouth instead of Brandy and that gives it an incredible flavor. His didn't have the vanilla bean but I think that will just make it better. I lost that recipe years ago so I'm making this + Vermouth!
