Here we have some old footage of the band found in Echo Productions archive circa 1960's TV show. playing one of their original numbers LOVESICK.

One of Englands best West coast/swing blues bands," No Time For Jive" playing at the Tyne Bar Newcastle.
From Their Myspace page....
No Time For Jive have rocked up over 20 years of playing their blend of West Coast style R & B Swing and Blues that few British bands seem to capture, making them firm favourites on the North East music scene.

A tight four piece with a big sound who are:
BRIAN LYNAM (a.k.a. Scotswood Slim)
Lead singer & harp player, writer of the band's original numbers. Rice Miller was the first 'real' harp player Brian heard in the 60s and has been hooked ever since. Adept at chromatic and diatonic harmonicas who also teaches the instrument. Does session work, and when not with the Jives sits in with local jazz players. ("I'm learning all the time and still loving it") not making much money, but one of these days...!
NAT McLEAVE
Drummer with the shuffle style. N.T.F.J. needed to get that sound. Nat came to the band after playing with lots of soul and brass outfits, highly regarded as a musician with a great ear, (if it ain't right he'll let you know!) Nat can handle most anything that is asked of him, a real gem of a player. "Never mind the money, where's the buffet?" is his mantra...!
KEITH FORSYTH (a.k.a. Beefy La Slap)
Vocalist and slap bass player, Beef came in from the Rockabilly scene (The Sidekick Trio). He Was hooked on Rock n' Roll as a kid. Has become one of the best slap bass players around. Beefy has worked with the likes of Charlie Feathers, Carl Perkins, and is an honouray of Gene Vincent's band the Bluecaps. (Not many people know that!) A great player never known to have an off night, who always 100% and no less. "Don't need no cash, live of the land me!"
PETE REDHEAD
Came to the band from that English school of R & B Dr. Feelgood et al. At first he didn't know his Jimmy Vaughan from his Frankie Vaughan! but has turned into a great T. Bone stylist, influenced by the likes of Jnr. Watson, Alex Shultz and Kid Ramos etc. He gives N.T.F.J. that authentic West Coast sound that sets them apart from the rest. "I'll have mine in crisp twenties thank you!!!"

  • If this is from the 60's then Brian must have looked sixty when he was 10!

  • He's a blues time traveller!
