Last time I checked paying tribute and showing a little respect to our men & women who fight for us was a little more important than Avatar. Cameron already won how many damn awards. It won't kill him to not win for a change. The movie was still a success was in not? Now quit your bitching.

Cameron and Bigelow are on very good terms, people create this false rivalry between them. He wrote Strange Days, a few years after their divorce, which was her biggest film before Hurt Locker.
And lets not forget, Kathryn did not even want to do The Hurt Locker, Cameron read the script and convinced her to do it.

Like her stuff. A lot. She does amazing stuff with POV and her tracking shots are jaw dropping. This movie deserved the award.
