On Thursday, March 1st, Jack put a twist on their Million Dollar Birthday Game by guaranteeing a Million Dollar decision before the end of the day.
We were prepared to spin for hours, but it took us only 4 tries to land on a contestant Birthday. The lucky listener was Ruben Armenta from National City. His Birthday was February 5, and thats exactly where that giant wheel landed.
This left Ruben with the decision of a lifetime: take the 10 GRAND or trade it in for a chance at $1 MILLION. Ruben chose envelope number 8 from our 48 envelopes. If that envelope contained his birth year of 1962, he would win $1 MILLION.
After consulting with his family and looking deep inside himself, Ruben decided to take the $10,000 and give up his chance for $1 MILLION.
After his decision, we opened up the envelope to see how good of a decision he had made. We opened up the envelope on the air to unbelievably find the year 1962 inside.
If Ruben had gone for it, he would have won $1 MILLION. He was happy with his $10,000 anyways.
oh that's a shame. Lol

how come the spinning wheel was on camera but the revealing of the envelope wasn't? :p .. that's some ol' fashioned dramatic radio schtick.. I don't believe for a minute 1962 was in the winning envelope.. of course, there's no proof it was, so we'll never know :D ..
