Perhaps the most outstanding, extravagant and beautiful postwar coachbuilt car in existence, this 1949 Delahaye Type 175 S with coachwork by Saoutchik is a stunning Amelia Island and Pebble Beach award-winner and is believed to have been the 1949 Paris and 1950 New York Show Car. With fascinating celebrity ownership by Diana Dors, it is one of only 51 of this chassis originally built and has been re-united with its original engine. It will be offered at the upcoming Sports & Classics of Monterey auction on August 12-14, 2010 in Monterey, California. Visit rmauctions.com/monterey for more information.
