The added cost of adding the AFCI devices is marginal when put against the cost people are spending on high dollar counter tops and high end appliances. We can't put a cost on safety and the cost of $ 500-$700.00 additional for AFCI's is not a good reason to not add them, they do work and do have the potential to save lives.
