Is this laser expensive ? What's the model ?
szajba7 8 months ago
@szajba7 : All laser stuff is overpriced. This is the cheapest model from China that I could find that has red, green and blue lasers and can be controlled manually, and it was ~£320 (GBP - please use xe.com to convert currencies). It goes by several different model numbers. The important specs are that it's 300 mW in total (red 650nm 150mW, green 532nm 50mW, blue/violet 405nm 100mW) and scans at 20 kpps max (after being tuned, not out of the box). None of these specs are to be bragged about ^^;

@SomethingUnreal Sad face... Looking directly at the show will blind you... :( Nice Laser Projector though :)

@DarkMatter93 : I can still see. If you're a safe distance away and there is plenty of fog, it's okay. Although you're right to be concerned about those green beams that drop to about eye level...
I think show would be best watched if the projector is placed a little above head level and aimed upwards, so that the beams can never aim downwards even at their lowest points, but instead only go straight over your head. Unfortunately, I don't have a 3D camera to capture this effect, though. ^^'

@SomethingUnreal Yeah, it will be nice to see it in person. Your laser light shows are amazing. (lasers+projectors+music+SomethingUnreal = Laser Awesomeness) lol :D. Maybe, as an idea, the best place to watch the laser light show is in the middle of the lasers with the show programed so that the lasers don't pass through the middle for someone to look in. It's just an idea ;) Also, 3D laser light show! O.o Can't this be done with two cameras and software? Anyway, thanks for replying :)

@DarkMatter93 : Glad you like them! =)
Setting "safe" areas like you describe is also possible.
Yes, it's certainly possible in software, but I don't have 2 identical cameras (or a way of mounting them together, although if I had the cameras, I'd have the motivation to make a "mount", which would likely be a block of wood and some tape, knowing me). It's possible even with 1 camera, but then it's even harder to position the 2nd view rightly (without "toe-in" (rotation), correct separation, etc).
