I have recently bought 1/144 scale models of the main protagonists of the Air War over Vietnam and I have been surprised at how TINY the MiG-21 looked compared to the F-8 Crusader or the F-4 Phantom...even the F-5 looked massive beside it.

We're conditioned by u.s. propaganda to imagine Soviet Technology as bulky and lumbering, but reality shows how USSR engineers managed many times to achieve designs which were sleek, nimble and visually appealing, even in decades past!
