its crazy how now they are using the dash9s now they rarely use them sd40s we dont use them mmuch up here anymore just for our switching and yardwork

its for extra communications equipment like for helper service. PS- the second loco is an SD45-2, basically a SD45 that looks like a long SD40-s.

Yes, they were going up North to Victorville. It was shot on Aug 2, 1997 (my birthday, actually!)

Indeed, thanks, it was totally unexpected. I was chasing the "tail" of a Southbound SP train from the side service road (!) ... and I saw that pair in the far distance. Well, the problem is that I was holding the camcorder in one hand and my SLR on the other hand. So, at some moment the shooting is not that steady. I understand that today these machines are long gone. Too bad I didn't shoot more videos at that time.
