I'm going down by the riverside
gonna wash away my troubles
in the noonday tide
the taxman's coming and he wants his dues
but the only way to catch me
is to wet his shoes
I found my freedom
a paradise meant for me
I found my freedom, I found my freedom
Da dada 'n dee dee dee
Hold my head up and look to the sun
I found a new place where I don't have to run
No one to find me in my restricted zone
'Caus I left my address as a place unknown
Remember all the people
living tired and down
You got to leave the city
or you're sure to drown
Make a goog for freedom
and be sure to find
you find yourself a good life
and your peace of mind

I remember this song from Germany...I knew it sung by a group called 'Sunday People'...my neighbor Iris and I would play this 45 on and on. I remembered the lyrics like the day I wrote them on paper almost 30 years ago-I have been looking for this song now for some time...thanks for the memories!
