Narrated by Derek Jacobi and Joseph Fiennes this is one of the most famous ancient sagas ever told, Beowulf tells the tale of a young Danish warrior called Beowulf who goes to the aid of King Hroðgar and his people, who are attacked by a half-man half-monster named Grendel.

    this isn't completely right.

Beowulf calls out to the dragon because beowulf won't fight the dragon in the cave. Then he fights the dragon and hits the dragon on the head which causes his sword to break. Beowulf gets bit on the shoulder by the dragon and Wiglaf (the one man who comes and helps him) slashes at the dragon's stomach. finally beowulf stabs the dragon in the heart with his dagger. after the dragon is dead the dragons venom begins to kill the Beowulf and gives the kingdom to Wiglaf.

Looks a lot less cheesy than the Zemeckis film.

Me too! Though “cheesy” is rather a harsh thing to say. The animation is not that great, but the voice acting is magnificent. Reminds me of the Baksi 1977 Lord of the Rings and Rankin-Bass Hobbit, both of which I LOVE. And both of which do not get a fair shake in this age of CGI.
