The shared glass could make even a mild impact worst. So I can see where a -HP modifier would be applicable.

If I'm being hit in the face with a mace, that has it centre of mass towards my eye, I'm screwed. I wouldn't give a sh*t about the possibility of glass going into my eye.

Anything acting on the area with enough force to shatter the glass is going to make the eye behind the glass fucked up! So, yes, you would end up with bits of glass in the gaping wound that used to be your face, who cares. lol

With a sufficient blow from say a Mace, even coated sunglasses would shard enough to add to the damage.

Would think sunglasses would fall under the same pitfalls.

Now.. What about 'safety glasses'? Course under the pressure of a Mace hit, they probably would offer much protection.

I know, they are a point of weakness.

The shard factor isn't actually a problem with most glasses anymore, as they tend to be plastic or plastic coated. But glasses can be knocked off.

I wonder if it's the same with sunglasses?

As for glasses being -HP, it makes sense really. One good whack and they break, sending glass shards into your eyes.
