@anadus7 Hell freaking yes.

Tidus was a step in the right direction in that he was cheerful... but he still had a lot of emotional baggage that just made him annoying. Somebody like Balthier, who can keep all their issues inside and don't need their feelings coddling every second - instead focusing on doing something awesome - now THAT's a hero who would revitalise my interest in FF.

And JRPG's in general, come to think of it. There's a lot of dull heroes out there.
