My capuchin monkey, baby Lenny, is 5 weeks old and he loves to sing for you!
UPDATE: He was born at a rescue, I fostered/raised him, and he is now in an awesome home living better than some people!
Do you want a monkey? No. You need permits and owning one is like having a 2 year old (who can jump 10 feet and tear things apart in 3.4 seconds) for 40 years. 10 years if you feed them crap.
Do you still think you want a monkey? Then go volunteer for a year with them. If you can find a place and stick with it, then congrats, you are one of few!
Do I want or own monkeys? NOPE. I loved raising him but would NEVER want the responsibility of caring for an adult monkey!
Should monkeys even be kept as pets? That's neither here nor there - they are, and there are awesome rescues who help repair the mistakes people make when they do get monkeys as pets but don't know any better.

  • No canned hunts or labs here! I can't speak for others but this rescue has 18 monkeys, only one of which occasionally has a baby. They are living out their lives with human and monkey interaction, lots of stimulation, and are happy. They will die of old age here. Yes they bite (some more than others) and no you probably truly do not want one! It is because of a rescue like this that they did not and will not end up in labs, hunts, or killed because of irresponsible pet ownership.

  • @silverbulletgirl29 What a repulsive thought. I was hoping they'd all be dead soon.

  • @oooblah66 The ones in the wild aren't as health due to parasites and disease. Just think. With elite breeding programs and discovering their care, we'll improve their survival rates and everyone can enjoy them many generations to come. Do they ever say 'foood or 'good'

  • @oooblah66 Of course. It is imperative that they be saved and taken into captivity b/c the rainforest will disappear anyway due to human dev. and cutting down trees. The animal rights activists will soon see that we did the right thing so we will still have some in captivity to replace them when the species goes extinct in the wild. Nothing wrong w/raising healthy animals of any kind responsibly & well-cared for, and I am in vet tech school, and vouch for maintaining exotics.

  • @ooblah66 thank you for your part in saving the monkeys they are amazing creatures and though I'd like to save all animals from harm we have to take one step at a time so I thank you

  • mini version of elvis

  • haha sso cute

  • actually theres probably a person who has two adult capuchins one male n one female & breeds them n sells them its the same process with dogs but in monkey form so theres nothing inhumane about owning one

  • He's calling to his mother.

  • Thats the cutest thing ever..
