how to build a driveway gate,part 6

build a driveway gateOne more day and I'll have it finished. I have to add some diagonal bars in the shape of an X to the gate,then paint it and I'm done.

And one suggestion: how 'but putting one wheel underneath main gate that might prevent possible hang over time?

@tgtbtri A wheel would be the best option of all but, my driveway has an uphillincline and at the end of the gate it nearly touches at it's highest point and at it's lowest point it is about 8 inches from the driveway. It would be impossible to use a wheel with such a big difference in bight.

@bctruck Oh, that's a problem. How about digging the channel of wheel's path, and making it deep enough?

@tgtbtri That is something I may have to consider if the wooden pole doesn't hold up to the weight of the gate.

@calitrucker1 thanks! i really enjoyed getting to use all my tools. my projects dont always come out as i envision them,but this one turned out exactly like i had it in my head. i never make a drawn out plan. my next big project is a new carport. i was just online trying to determine how far i can span with 8inch "C" purlins. i can go 30 feet which is perfect. i only have one vehicle but its gonna be a bigass carport.
