Cos, Dogukan and Adonis are three young Cypriots from both sides of the island, living in Cyprus and abroad. They met at "Kala Kathoumena", a traditional coffee house in the southern old part of Nicosia, where people come together for long and relaxed discussions.
Instead of the usual Mediterranean "free style" discussion (that many times is diverged from the point), they decided to try a DIALE method to see how it would work out for the most popular Cypriot topic of conversation: "The Good things, the Bad things and the Future of Cyprus and how things can be improved".
So, after a short explanation of Task 1: "Dialogue tickets, taking turns to talk and to listen (taking and giving a turn)" (link: https://wiki.hamk.fi/download/attachments/18289358/TASK+1_Phase2_DialogueTick...). At the beginning they were puzzled and unsure whether this method could work for this case, but very soon they caught up and they actually had fun doing it!
The only point they kind of missed, it to keep their turns short when talking, but it is usual in Mediterranean culture to put passion in the discussion! But, with practice and with better target setting for the purpose of a discussion, this DIALE Task can be used more efficiently.
