  • This is OK, but nothing can top the singing style of Peter Cetera.

  • This singer SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS! Get Cetera back or don't sing the song at all.

  • The song just isn't complete without the last 5mins. A Paradise Garage - drive the dance floor wild - percussion madness that ALWAYS makes me smile. This track truly made a mark on dance music. It is always played at classic dance parties in downtown Manhattan. In fact, heard it last night at Club Shelter. Just can't keep still to this one. Wonderful!

  • @MrLen1955 Peter Cetera, himself, sometimes has difficulty with these songs. I've got a DVD of one of his concerts where many of these songs are sung in a lower key. As far as Chicago is concerned, doesn't it strike anyone else as strange that nearly every album since "Night & Day" has been a greatest hits package?

  • Its kind of ironic that they would even play this song being that it was written by Danny Seraphine who left the group under pretty bad circumstances and its a song most often associated with Peter Cetera whose vocal range was much better suited to it.

It would actually sound good with a woman singing it.

  • As is their custom for the last 25 years, the band is as good as the vocals are bad.

  • Wow, "Street Player" being a part of their live set. Never saw that one coming. One of my favorites. They proved they could do disco-funk with the best of 'em. Wish they could incorporate this one in their American live sets. AND PLEASE FOLK, stop hating on Jason Scheff...Cetera is hard to do and he's probably one of the few out there that can bring it.

  • Jason sounds more like Peter on SP than most of the songs he's tried to cover over the years. He only seems to have pitch problems with Cetera material. It's amazing how good he sounds doing the songs he recorded. I'm glad they're doing Danny Seraphine material again. I wonder if Lou Pardini will take a shot at "Little One"? I also like the addition of the percussionist, although they claimed (at the time) to have fired Laudir to make room in the band for Bill Champlin. So now they're 9-piece?

  • @MrLen1955 I would love to see Cetera back in the back in the band, but Jason Scheff has been in the band longer than Cetera. I agree with you. He cannot sing.

  • If the dogs in Puerta del Angel are not howling at this version of Street Player, nothing will make them howl. Jason has managed to butcher this great song. How the management of this once legendary group allows this novice to ruin the vocal work that Cetera labored hard at is beyond me. Jason needs to gracefully bow out as the frontman of this group for the sake of their legend and for the sake of their listeners, and fans of this once legendary group.

  • Only Cetera can sing this song the way its meant to be sung. Jason Scheff needs to come to grips with himself that he is not Peter Cetera, nor, will he ever be. Chicago is now a tribute band to themselves, to the once great sound and product they had with the legendary Peter Cetera, Terry Kath and Danny Seraphine. At least they still have Robert Lamm, who is another legend.
