  • everyone is saying that the audio isnt quite right, but on my MacBook Air, it seems to sound just fine. Did you make it on a Mac? If so maby there is something wrong with converting it to a non-mac computer.

  • @rollsroyce666 Yep, it was made on a Mac. I've since changed the production flow of our segments by running the audio track through Levelator before uploading to YouTube. All is good. :)

  • I have always liked this car but people always seem to knock on it saying "it's just a re-badged Edge". How do you feel the 2 compare Dan? Would you just save your money and get an Edge over this or is the extra cash worth it? Interior wise, option wise, and ride quality wise.

  • @flatblackstrat I haven't been in the most recent Edge, so I can't make the call. Best bet would be to drive the two back-to-back.

  • Please turn the volume up, it's low most of the time

  • @miami428 Workin' on it ... thanks!

  • Dan, I love your videos. However, the audio is always sketchy. One thing I'd recommend is after you finish each video, strip the audio & load it into adobe audition. Then Dynamics process it and Normalize the audio, and overlay it on-top of the video again. That way everything is the same level, and is nice and loud. That way there isn't a need to turn the speakers up to the max.

  • @Jld2588 True. I am well aware of the luxury car connection with their so-called lower brand counterparts. I was not trying to make a point about one vs another. Ultimately, my goal is get a vehicle with promise and stay within my budget.

  • @Cruzan9

How is "re-badged" Edge for an MKX any different than any other luxury brand. Acura's are just "re-badged" Honda's and Lexus's are just "re-badged" Toyota's. All luxury cars are basically "re-badged" from something else...

  • Ecoboost would be great. Maybe paired with hybrid? They just cannot take away A.W.D.!!!

  • @flatblackstrat I just saw a video from Motor Trend and they said the same thing about the MKX and the Edge. That's why the MKX was knocked out in round one of their Best SUV of 2011 review. It's a bit disconcerting to hear. I really like the MKX but if the components and features I like about it is also in the Edge it may be worth saving a few bucks. I'd have to test them both to make a final decision though.

  • @XscXps3 why would it break down its built by ford they tend to last 15 years minimum so in 2026 you might need to look for a replacement

  • I had this car for the weekend and I always owned Japanese cars like Acura and toyota/Lexus. I was very impressed with the fuel economy (regular gas), power (mid range torque) and front room comfort. I also loved the sync stereo system. Found xenon projects to be inferior compared to Acura/Lexus however the lighting is still very good. Best of all the ride quality is solid and very comfortable.

However I found the volume and ac controls a bit hard to use. Also the speaker quality is subpar f

  • @Jolxu Or the LX being a rebadged Prado. Luckily the Yota version isn't sold stateside. Sadly the Hilux Surf isn't sold in Japan anymore.
