  • Im A 14 Year Old Girl With Sickle Cell Anemia And I Have Been hospitalized Quite Often For This. I Totally Understand How You Feel And What You Say About How People Begin To Doubt If Your Really In Alot Of Pain. Watchinq Your Video Gave Me Strength! I Thank You Soo Much. Sometimes I Begin To Think Im The Only Person That Is Suffering Fro This And That No One Would Understand My Story.

    -Stay Strong

  • For anyone dealing with sickle cell, the University of Illinois at Chicago has a dedicated sickle cell treatment center and a grass roots foundation committed to raising awareness and genuinely reaching out to the community to help kids with their school work and make it through their crises. Check out either at hhsca . org or uicsicklecellcenter . org, check them out, call, and talk to someone that knows what you're going through.

  • I have sickle cell ss, and I wish there was a way I could talk to people about dealing with sickle cell.(Kinda like a support group) Im a 23yr old Preacher, and God has blessed me to not have any crisis or hospitalizations in 3yrs. I have had to take sum pain meds 3 or 4 times, and I still struggle with being really tire n exhausted at times. I also cant run or jog for 5 sec without being extremely tired, but other than those things God has kept me. Try a drug called Hydroxyurea

  • Hi Roxanne, I know its been a log time you have posted those videos. I would like to know how you are doing. I do myself have sickle cell SC, and just came out of te hospital and everything you talked about is on point as they administered the same to me. I pray that God will easy up the pain level for you as it seems in my own observations that as we get older as more frequent and more painful the crisis are. God Bless.

  • i was born with the same thing .. (im not lying like some of you..)

And the doctors and nures dont make it any better, all they do is drug me up with morphine and other narcodics until im to sleepy and drowzy to think about how much pain im going through..they do that every 3 or 4 hours around the clock ... SOME PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW BAD THIS CRAP HURTS!!!!!!
