Did the Beatles write "There's a Place" in response to this, or was it prior or coincidental? It's said to have been written three months prior. This is a great song by Brian Wilson. Nevertheless, before long, what was going on in teens rooms was listening to the Beatles, and what was going on here, musically, got placed into the background. Some of the Beatles' music has a tinge of mockery of American music, while others are a form of flattery or mimicry. Beach Boys are pure original.
