  • this is cool! great reportage, john, thelma, the visuals enhance the spoken text wonderfully.

    years ago, when i was volunteering at wbai, lovely john kalish once took me on a tour of his stomping grounds on the upper west side. we went to an extraordinary food shop to meet john's friend, manson(?!) the proprietor, a remarkable man whose eccentrically decked out van, mystical philosophy and amazing food stuffs i shall never forget. we also peeped in on pomander walk, a little bit of old ny.
