  • completely pointless exercise. You cannot turbo a 2 stroke engine as there are only "2" strokes to the cycle, 1: fuel in & compression (up stroke) and 2: Exhaust.

Fitting to a 4 stroke- now that would work but it would have to have a boost actuator, and the boost psi would have to be calculated.

If you made the turbo yourself then well done, good bit of work, just the fitting to a 2 stroke was a little off the mark...

  • @SMajorJimB

The fundamentals of two stroke tuning involve much more than 2 strokes, do a search on acoustic waves in two stroke expansion chamber to learn more. You have sound waves nearing supersonic intensity returning from the end cone of the chamber to create boost against. This is the short version on the subject.

  • try getting a 4 stroke engine and put this thing on it

  • @30GB I have, a fourstroke but thats another story for some other time. Now it is time for this one.

  • what's the name of the turbo

    where can i buy it

  • @SMajorJimB thats funny cause they done turbo 2 strokes for yeeeaarrrssss

  • @SMajorJimB go tell all the guys with two stroke snowmobiles that they can't be turboed!!! bucause there are tons of them that have turbo's on them

  • a 2 stroke turbo diesel works in a totally different way. the engine has a

blower which forces exhaust out and intake air in, the term is "scavenging" and the engine would not run without it. the turbo is just an addition to increase torque

  • @SMajorJimB If that's the case then why are there 2 stroke turbo Diesel motors?

  • i dont understand how people say its impossible to turbo a 2 stroke engine?... as long as the engine produces fairly large amounts of exhaust you can put a turbo on it.. the only problem with turboing a 2 stroke is you'd need a seperate oil reservoir with a pump to pump oil throuh the turbo because as most would know the oil goes right into the gasoline in 2 stroke engines..

what im saying, in short, is that its possible to turbo a 2 stroke engine, it just wont last long...

  • ok this posted ages ago! getting bored!

  • @SMajorJimB wrong. you can turbo a 2-stroke, although you do negate the acoustic re-burn effect, you are still able to force more air into the engine using one. the result is a MAJOR loss of low-end torque though when compared to a 4 stroke. very small powerband that still produces worthy gains in some applications. people do this on drag race sleds with cvt's becauuse as soon as the engine is in the higher revs it stays there until the race is over.

  • @MJPilote Those pressure waves are not strong enough to overpower the boost. All you're doing is pushing fuel and air mix right over the top of the piston. If you're lucky you're making the same power as you did before fitting it.

  • where did u get the turbo?
