  • nice way to take everything outta context, plus I'm not a big fan of the NIV as too much liberty is taken w/ the interpretations.

  • Well to start with, why don't you tell me what you think is out of context, and why.

  • @Captain42x and as far as not killing everyone again, even for Revelations, not everyone will die as people who believe and repent will have a peaceful kingdom under Jesus for 1,000 years. It's hard to find a specific passage or two as I can't remember myself, since Rev stuff is spread all over the bible.

  • @illegalmonkey,

    1. Every word spoken in the Bible - including God's internal musings - is supposed to be infallibly perfect. If God thought one thing to himself, and then later changed his mind, he cannot possibly be infallible.

    2. The passage in 2 Peter 3 clearly states that every living thing will be wiped out.

    3. Erm... moses was born before the plagues. I'm not really sure what you were getting at with this one.

  • Key word is all. A lot of people will be killed, but not all

  • I'm sorry, which passage are you referring to?

  • @BaphometXIV Yeah, Fuck Yahweh. I am with you.

  • Fuck Yahweh!

  • @grozde I think you are right

  • @Jman3000

God can't be all-knowing, perfect, AND change his mind! ;-)

His every decision is supposed to be right and perfect - and he's supposed to KNOW in advance what would happen, so he'd always make the best decision for the particular situation-to-be.

But if he changes his mind - well, something's wrong with him/the definition of him!

  • Thank God ppl have God's Inspired Word the Bible 2 rely on + not ur ignorant, out of context views. U clearly can't grasp Scripture even when it stares u in the face!!! Ask God 2 give u understanding...

  • @Captain42x Hypothetically, If God ever did changed His mind, that does not make Him fallible, but may demonstrate His free will depending on what He changes. This is not true for all things, such as His promises. God's promises stand firm. And if God ever went back on a promise, then He would not be infallible... then the universe would implode, that is what I think anyway :)

  • @Captain42x As for punishing the Egyptians well He was making sure bloodlines of his people were kept alive in order that Moses might be born. Obviously Moses had a bigger role to play and God had promised a land for those that were enslaved in Egypt by the pharaohs. Lucifer used the pharaoh to make sure Moses was not born hence all the killing of the first born children and such by the pharaoh before God plagued them.

  • @Captain42x well for starters Gen 8:21 says "and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done." He's not making that another promise to Noah, this is God saying inwardly to himself. He only told Noah he would never use a flood to kill everyone again.
