  • 6.8 rounds are the shit.

Ultimate compromise between hard hitting kinetic energy rounds like the 7.62 and high velocity compact 5.56.

  • I doubt your going to feel much better if either one of those hits you in the face. Its not like your going to be in a gunfight and get shot with a 5.56 and think 'oh im cool, just lucky that was'nt a 6.80 or id be in trouble'

  • @joromaine Tell me some statistics that i dont already know. Have you ever been shot with a 5.56?... Its a plow by weapons/ammunition manufacturers to sell new weapons and parts that go with them, as well as more ammo to the military as well as civilians. The difference is fuck all, miniscule. Get shot in the chest/head with either one and your outta action.

  • @ThePimpdaddy187 actually, that's exactly why the military is looking at the 6.8spc. Too many reports of confirmed hits with the 5.56 and target still gets away. They are ok inside of 200 yrds, but lose a lot of energy after that. The 6.80 will still have lethal effect at 400+ yards and that's why it's a good choice. The ballistics are almost as good as the 7.62, but with less recoil so follow up shots are possible. 7.62 recoil is too much.

  • Hm 5.56 vs. 12.7 or better 9mm vs. 12.7 :D

  • @byaaahrabble

ALL BULLETS TUMBLE. This has got to be one of the stupidest myths ever. Go play Call of Duty with your fake m4 some more.

  • 6.5 Grendel FTW!

  • @Alexper12 Not even really a compromise, it is better than both cartridges at their strong points. It has more energy than the 7.62 and a better ballistic coefficient than te 5.56. Hopefully more organizations will adopt this as their primary service cartridge and bring the price of ammunition down.

  • In a perfect world, theyd both be equal but we dont live a perfect world so therefore my vote is on 6.8 bc of its stopping power and reliability with the ar platform as opposed to the 5.56 ar15 thats been around for 50 years and all i hear are complaints about the gi version but pistons are too expensive so.... 6.8

  • @Vergon3256 Not necessarily, because the 5.56 is light, it's designed to tumble inside of a persons body. The 6.8 will go in and out in a straight line. So the 5.56 could actually be deadlier.

  • 6.8 will dance circles around the 5.56. It is much heavier, much faster and much deadlier

  • @Alexper12 Well said. Tell Everybody to buy a 6.8 POF rifle and purchase the 5.56 and 7.62 uppers if they are not satisfied with the 6.8. I have a 6.8 and I love it far more then my 5.56. I use it for Coyote hunting and at 300yds + it drops them in one shot. I also learned that, buying the ammunition it ridiculous so I started making my own. Quite a fun hobby for the weekends.
