My Star Wars/The Mask of Zorro mash-up. FAQ:

Q: What software did you use to create the lightsabers?
A: I used a fantastic lightsaber plug-in created by VideoCoPilot.net (thank you once again, Andrew Kramer!) for Adobe After Effects. I used After Effects 7.0 for this project.

Q: How long did it take you to put this together?
A: This one is a little harder to estimate, because I wasn't as focused on it as I was with my two "Immortal Jedi" videos -- I'm a new father, so I just sort of worked on it between diaper changes. But if I had to guess at the work hours ... if "Immortal Jedi II" took me about 100 hours spread out over 2 month, I'd say "Mask of the Jedi" took me about 60 hours spread out over 4 months.

  • At 0:49 and 1:48, the blade of the sword is missing and did you mask the blade to put rotoscope the lightsabers?

  • @Naminski1a I'm sorry, I didn't quite follow your question. The blades are missing because the "lightsaber" is off at those times. Are you asking me *how* I did it?

  • Wow amazing video, the graphics, the sound effect timings and quality in all where perfect you sir are professional, excellent work!

  • @gamefreakazoid117 Thank you!

  • This is extraordinary well done, probably one of the best rotoscoping jobs I have ever seen by a non-Lucas affiliated dude. The mirrors are probably the most impressive part of this, you nailed it.

  • @TheSkiingGuru Thank you very much. :-)

  • Nice attention to detail. Particularly the fact that the sabers are reflected in the mirror.

  • @wystendraco

Yes they were probably laced with cortosis weave

  • Count Dooku? I was about to say.

  • 0:32 "Oh hey Count Doo... AGH! Wait! It's me Darth Vader!"

  • @Froggy22651 Actually rapier fighting is Count Dooku's style, what he does is mainly fencing, which is a big part of rapier fighting. Though the rapier style may not deflect blasters too easily, as a broad sword has more blocking power than a rapier.
