(Un like in the original RS2.1 where conquering foreign cities result with more money income, I have made changes and now in my campaign controlling foreign core regions will result with lowered income for me. The negative tax bonus is especially large in other faction's capitals)
Thebes is conquered, but the proud Greeks will never sit still under the Macedonian rule, and that means that if I can't conquer Athens and Corinth fast it would be very expensive to only hold Thebes.
Holding Thebes is not giving me the money income for sustaining second army and if I continue with the attack further south, Macedonian core regions would be undefended. Romans will surely exploit that. Also, conquering Athens would not rise my income but it will even lower it because of all the money needed to control the freedom loving and proud Athenians.
Having this in mind I have decided to take every money that I can from Thebes and abandon the city. Also I will not defend Chalkis and I will use the plunder from Thebes for fast regrouping of my army.
Destroying the buildings and depopulating Thebes is great setback for the Greek Cities and it will reduce the pressure on the southern front for some time. This will give me the time needed to attack and conquer Serdica and annex the region of Paeionia. Paeionia is neighboring region to Pella and holding and defending it would be easier. I just hope that Dacians have not conquered Serdica already .
(I must note that I think it was maybe better to risk and conquer Athens first, but now the move is already made)
I predict large Roman invasion soon.Don't know if i'l be able to prepare the defense in time
