@aminul1984 actually if you read Bruce Lee's book he actually likes side kicks. to the hips/low mid section sometimes but mostly to the legs/knees. A side kick with the front leg doesn't take much energy at all ( the same as a straight kick ) is powerful and reletively safe.
I suggest you go buy and read the "tao of jeet kune do" one of Bruce's two books! Great read!

@IRowyI You are completely wrong, JKD is not MMA. JKD is something that is simple and not something that is complex, in MMA someone might be comfortable using a side kick but this is not good because it takes time and energy and is nto direct, why not just use a straight kick and be direct.
MMA is not JKD and JKD is not MMA.

JKD isn't exactly a style. I saw techniqiues from Wing Chun, Western Boxing, Aikijujutsu, Japanese Jujutsu, Karate and Budo Taijutsu(Ninjutsu) all in that video. JKD is the ORIGINAL Mixed Martial Art, it was more philosophy than art. You just took the practical, and left out the flashy of what you knew, it suggests you learn more than 2 styles. Bruce Lee frowned upon the fact JKD became so, commercial. Calling JKD an art is like calling MMA an art, they both are NOT art's themselves.
