This is quite lovely. I ought to look into more of Karita Mattila - it sounds like she may be one of the best (and few) Pucinniennes, if you'll let me coin a term, that we have around these days.

Not as good as Freni whom I saw in this production with P. Dvorsky. Great voice that she as , most days sopranos don't like singing words and the voice is just a little heavy for this. Giordani is good but this is a tenor role for the great tenors, it's bloody difficult.

Are these the same scenery and settings used in the Manon Lescaut that was performed by Scotto and Domingo in the 1980's???
