Like a lot of of youtube viewers, I'm a music junkie and am into hundreds of bands from the 80's until now...I would describe this as a perfect song, a standard of human creativity, based on the sheer satisfaction it inspires and the fact that this band can do no wrong.

@dragonskankin I would start w/ The Real Ramona and Hunkpapa cos they're the most accessible and they're also fantastic albums. Then check out the early stuff. University is the only post-Tanya album I like altho others may disagree.

@JunkyPromise I think like a fair amount of songwriters Kristen writes about whatever she's thinking about at the time. There's a lot going on in this song. "Your tongue is on my shoulder and there's nothing on my brain." Sounds like meaningless sex or sex distracted from sex.

@OrangeSFO Blink 182 are better, I'm quite sure, than anything you've ever done in your life. Seriously? They're who you are gonna pick on? At least they're a rock band. And are they, like, flooding the airwaves now? No. And they weren't two years ago when you left your comment. 1997 called. It wants its insults back. Maybe fans of both TM and Blink are rare...but you found one here, pal. ::puts chin up::
muses had two incarnations..
Tanya leading a Pop like unit
Kristin leading a more indie like unit
i prefer the indie type over the pop influenced Tanya sound.

actually, Kristin lead all incarnations of Throwing Muses. Tanya wrote and sang lead on a dozen Muses songs, only a few of which i would classify as pop. IMO most of her Muses (and Breeders) output was fairly edgy, especially compared to her later Belly/ solo work.

Too bad Kristin couldn't keep the band together.
I think she probably is a difficult woman to deal with due to her bipolar disorder.
Great Music though.

nobody who knows kristin has ever called her "difficult". anyway, Throwing Muses lasted 13 years. that's a long time in rock band years.
kristin continues to work with members bernard georges (with her band 50footwave) and david narcizo (he did the artwork for several of her solo albums and also contributed drums).also there's been many TM reunion gigs along with the '03 reunion album. so it isn't like they REALLY broke up anyway.
